Morgan Wade is a 27-year-old country music artist from Floyd, V.A. A sharp writer and impactful vocalist, Wade writes songs about intense emotions — lust, loss, loneliness — and performs each with the conviction of a hardened, or perhaps wounded, outlaw.

In the summer of 2022, Wade toured with Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton, opening for the superstars in stadiums and amphitheaters nationwide. Yet, in between those massive gigs, she headlined some intimate shows at small venues — such as Raccoon Motel in Davenport, IA.

A few days after performing at the Iowa State Fair, Wade played an acoustic set at Raccoon Motel — the trendiest venue in the Quad Cities. She took the stage shortly after 9 p.m. The show was sold out; The audience sang along to every song, especially those from "Reckless" — Wade's debut solo album, which was released in March 2021.

"Met You" was the second-to-last song of Wade's set at Raccoon Motel. One of the tenderest, and barest, songs from her debut LP, "Met You" displays all of Wade's most unique attributes; At times, the song is heart-wrenching. She followed it up with "Wilder Days," her breakout hit — which gained traction on the radio over a year after it was released — then returned for a brief encore.
