I know this song is actually very used in many others videos but when I saw the clip I immediately had inspiration !
And I know it's a over-used couple too so I tried to use original manips.

Okay, there are many ways to understand the story so I will juste explain how you are suppose to understand the video :

Jim is very depressed because the woman he loves is about to marry another man.
FLASHBACK : Jim met Ariel when she was still a siren. They were about to fall in love but one day Ariel saves Eric and falls in love with his beauty. He loves her back so they decide to get marry.
END OF THE FLASHBACK
Ariel realises during her wedding that she doesn't really loves Eric and that her true love is Jim. She runs away with him.
Then Ariel meets the woman of Jim's life : her mother. Fortunately the two woman have a good relationship.
Jim, who wants Ariel to forget her "wedding" takes her in a boat to explore the galaxy ✯
They spend good time with each other but Eric finds them and he accomplishes his revenge : killing Ariel and her lover.

You can interpret the end as you want :
The simpliest way to interpret it is that Jim wake up in his room and realises that Ariel is dead, so he wishes that she was here with him one last time.
You can also imagine that all of this never happened. Ariel really got marry with Eric and Jim just dreamt that she runs away with him.
