Perfect Weekend/Night Camping Destination Just 75 KM from Bangalore | Narayangiri Hills

Описание к видео Perfect Weekend/Night Camping Destination Just 75 KM from Bangalore | Narayangiri Hills

Around 76 km from Bangalore towards Mysore road, Narayanagiri hill is one of the lesser-known mountain peaks in Karnataka. This peak lies around 20 km from Ramanagara and is nearly 3800 feet in height. At the top of the hills, there is a temple of Laxmi Narayana which is open only at the weekends.

Reaching this place is quite easy. Driving down from Bangalore on Mysore Road will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the time of travel. Once Reach Ramnagaram which is 55 kilometres from Bangalore. Take a right at the Government bus stand and after about 100 meters take the left to enter a narrow village road. Continue to travel on this road for about 20 kms to arrive at Jalamangala Village.

As soon as we reached Jalamangala you could see the Narayanagiri hills right in front of you. There is a beautiful lake adjacent to the hill.
On the hill halfway, you can take your bike or car. There is the one-kilometre off-road path. The off-road trail starts right after took the diversion from the Lake.
The google maps don't show the off-road path so make sure you take the right turn after the lake.

Coming next is one kilometre stretch of the mud road. The road isn't as bad as you might be expecting the inclination is more. It wasn't too difficult, but if you are new to biking then you might face a little hiccup scaling this stretch. If you are doubting if your bike can pick up on this stretch then don't worry at all. I saw 100 cc bikes like Hero Splendor, Bajaj Platina parked atop. The mud road reaches to a dead end and there is plenty of parking spaces.

You can find the footsteps near the foothills up to some extent. You need to climb 480 steps to reach the top.
Then start trekking by entering the thick forests of Jalamangala. Trek is very short and dead easy. Stairs till the top are hewn on the stone rock face. So there is no question about the directions or safety concerns. You just have to follow the stairs until you can see the Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple atop. The trek was easy and can reach the top in 10 minutes.

There is a lesser-known irregular route from the base of the hill which would make the trek considerably challenging. As there is no information about that route on the internet it was wise for you to take the route followed by the locals. I would recommend you to take a local villager if you want to scale the stretch from the base through some other route.

This is one of the less crowded places for sunrise and sunset view.
And this place is great for night camping. You can drink, cook, eat nonveg here - no one asks you. But please make sure you don't litter the place.
There were many villagers atop, who came here for the weekend picnic. I could smell delicious Mutton Biriyani. The villagers come here to perform their rituals of meat-offering.

Wonderful aerial view with windy air blows your body. A calm and relaxing place. The solar plant is seen from the top which is eye-catching. It is green, rocky and serene making it an ideal weekend getaway
It is advisable to carry your own drinking water. Because there is no source of drinking water on top of the mountain.

This temple is believed to have existed a few hundred years ago is located on a monolith rock. There were many small rock pools filled with water from the rain.
This is one of the unknown forty mountain peaks of Karnataka, also the infrastructure here is not developed and during the trek, it is advisable to carry water bottles as the peak as no source for drinking water, also near the temple you can find ponds which are vastly contaminated by plastics, there many such small ponds wherein water are hygiene can be deployed in washing the faces.

So Narayagagiri Hills, A perfect one-day offbeat destination for team outings and weekend getaways for those who live in and around Bangalore and Mysore. A Lovely place for trekking and camping with beautiful views. I request everybody who planning to visit Narayagagiri kindly keep the environment neat and clean, By caring for the environment, you care for yourself and for your coming generations. Let us be more responsible towards our environment to make it a better place.
