Invasive Carpophilus beetle (Carpophilus truncatus) has been confirmed in almond, pistachio, and walnut orchards across multiple counties of the San Joaquin Valley. This beetle and navel orangeworm (NOW) both attack nuts directly and cause economic damage. This presentation will focus on pest identification, understanding its biology, and, most importantly, devising strategies, including insecticide, to manage these two major pests of nut crops.
