Verse I — Gloria in Excelsis (Glory in the Highest)

Gloria in excelsis Deo,
Et pax super terram hominibus.
In nocte Nativitatis Christi,
Caelum canit, terra tacet.

Glory to God in the highest,
And peace upon the earth to men.
On the night of Christ’s Birth,
Heaven sings while earth is silent.

Verse II — Vox Angelorum (Voice of the Angels)

Vox angelorum in tenebris fulget,
Timor cordis evanescit.
“Nolite timere,” clamant in caelo,
“Natus est vobis Salvator.”

The voice of the angels shines in the darkness,
The fear in the heart disappears.
“Do not be afraid,” they cry in the heavens,
“For a Savior is born to you.”

Verse III — Pastores Pacis (Shepherds of Peace)

Pastores ad praesepium pergunt,
Ducente lumine gratiae.
In oculis eorum fessis et pauperibus,

The shepherds go to the manger,
Led by the light of grace.
In their tired and poor eyes,
They find the fountain of peace.

Non solum in caelo pax resonat,

Ubi humiliter Filium suscipiunt,

Peace resounds not only in heaven,

Verse V — Pax Crucis Futuræ (Peace of the Coming Cross)

Pax haec non est mundi fragile donum,
Sed sanguine Crucis scribitur.
Parvus Puer qui nunc ridet,
Pacem in cruce consummabit.

This peace is not the fragile gift of the world,
But is written in the blood of the Cross.
The little Child who now smiles
Will bring this peace to completion on the Cross.
