Tension a Bandsaw Blade: The "Flutter" Method - WOOD magazine

After installing a bandsaw blade, it's important to set the blade tension properly. Built-in tension gauges on your saw may be unreliable, so use this method, called the "flutter" method to ensure the optimal tension. A poorly tensioned blade can lead to wandering cuts, poor blade tracking, and even a broken bandsaw blade.
