Audio 101: Mid/Side Recording Technique

You may have heard of mid/side processing, where during your mix or master process, you can effect the mid information differently than the sides.

Did you also know that there is mid/side recording? This is a great microphone technique that gives you a great, full stereo sound with just two microphones!

Once you learn how to set your mics up for mid/side, experiment! Mid/side recording is great for acoustic instruments, drums, piano, strings and more! One added benefit, its mono-compatible!

The tricky part isn’t how to set up for recording, but how to handle the audio once it’s in your DAW, but I go over everything you need to know in this video!
