Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the Federal Cabinet, during which members were briefed on key policy matters relating to currency design and the Private Hajj Policy.

The Cabinet was informed by the Ministry of Finance about the new designs of banknotes to be issued by the State Bank of Pakistan. It was shared that the redesigned currency notes will highlight Pakistan’s regional and geographical diversity, as well as its historical landmarks. In addition, important social themes such as women’s contribution to national development and climate change awareness will also be incorporated into the new designs.

In another major decision, the Federal Cabinet reviewed the draft Private Hajj Policy 2027–2030, presented by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The policy focuses on third-party registration and verification of private Hajj operator companies to ensure transparency and improved service standards.

In light of the observations and opinions of Cabinet members, the Prime Minister directed that the draft policy be referred to the Hajj Policy Committee for further deliberation and refinement before final approval.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that all policy decisions must reflect transparency, inclusivity, and public interest, reaffirming the government’s commitment to institutional reform and improved governance.
