The forced teleport on you can be avoided by reading a Teleport anchoring scroll, a newer item to the game. The scroll will make it impossible to be teleported by the demons. This benefits most abyssal demon-slaying methods, so the scroll unlock is recommended. However, some people feel it is a small debuff while using the Venator bow method later shown. So, think carefully – there is currently no way to toggle or undo it.
Killing them at the Catacombs of Kourend is recommended whenever possible, as it is a multicombat area, with two rooms to the north containing nine demons - five north and four south.
If slaying as part of a Wilderness task or wanting the absolute best XP per hour, you must go to the Wilderness Slayer Cave, a multicombat area. Here, you will have access to the Wilderness Slayer drop table. This is a slayer only area. It is a popular PK spot, and most of the cave is above level 30 Wilderness. Using a cannon with melee, Venator bow, or barraging can be extremely fast XP here is recommended for advanced players. XP per hour can be well over 100k Slayer XP per hour here. If you are comfortable with the Wilderness, I highly recommend slaying here. You can take better gear than I did in the video; I showed the basic method. Be sure to take the usual Wildy precautions. The traditional way to kill abyssal demons is by melee. This method best suits those looking for simplicity, low cost, and some AFK. XP/hour with melee is moderate. The Emberlight is the best option at an impressive nearly 13 DPS. The Rapier and the Blade of Saeldor are second are closer to 11 DPS. The Fang and the Whip are the next best options between 11 and 10 DPS. I was getting around 35k slayer XP per hour with melee, so melee is not a bad option. This could have easily been closer to 40k if I wasn’t picking up ashes. For gear, focus on strength bonus and prayer bonus.
With level 90 Magic and completion of A Kingdom Divided, abyssal demons can be a good source of Prayer experience. Ironmen should have Dragon Slayer II completed for a supply of wrath runes. Using Master Reanimation on all ensouled abyssal heads and Demonic Offering on all abyssal ashes, the abyssal demon kills will be worth an average of 307 Prayer XP - more than double their base Slayer XP.
With the Venator bow, ranging abyssal demons is a strong alternative. The Venator bow tends to be less XP per hour than barraging, squarely between melee and mage – I was getting about 55k slayer XP per hour. However, it requires much less effort than mage, as the bow lures some abyssal demons during regular operation. All nine demons can be lured to the middle of the two chambers, allowing for significant experience gains and access to the Catacombs drop table. The scorching bow would be a decent option if you would like to single-combat ranged.
Barraging or bursting abyssal demons in the Catacombs of Kourend is highly recommended. The Purging staff would be a decent option if you want to single combat mage; however, with efficient barraging, abyssal demons are excellent slayer XP. I was getting over 70k slayer XP per hour, and this could go up to 100k xp/hour with good barraging lure practice. Bring your best magic damage gear, and consider prayer bonus. Due to the low magic defense of abyssal demons, it is generally recommended to prioritize magic damage and prayer bonus, while magic attack bonus is less critical. Virtus is the best magic gear for barraging here. Use a staff or wand that can auto-cast Ancient Magicks.
Due to their unique teleport mechanic, it's preferable to mainly use Smoke Barrage instead of Ice Barrage to prevent the demons from teleporting out of the stack while frozen and unable to move back in. You can tag all the demons in one room, lure them to the tunnel to stack up, freeze them, and then tag and lure them from the other room. After this, Smoke Barrage the whole group. Blood Barrage can also be used, although much more expensive for marginally more XP. Alternatively, after reading a Teleport anchoring scroll, abyssal demons can be efficiently killed with Ice spells. After stacking the demons in the tunnel, stand either east or west of the stack and start casting; if you continue to target the one on the tile they were stacked on initially, the demons cannot teleport outside the spell's radius.
