When the world crumbled under the weight of the Cordyceps infection, people didn’t just lose their homes or their loved ones. They lost the very idea of order, of a place where hope could live. Out of the ashes of the old world, new groups clawed their way into existence. Some fought for survival. Others, like the Washington Liberation Front — the WLF — fought for control.
The WLF wasn’t born evil. They were born desperate. Seattle’s people had been placed under the control of FEDRA, the government’s disaster agency, but the promise of protection quickly curdled into something cruel. Food became scarce. Protests were crushed. Executions in the streets were treated like warnings, not tragedies. Fear was the law, and survival was permission to stay silent. But some couldn't accept living like prisoners. From that anger and grief, the WLF took its first breath​.
