A very quick overview of some used Enphase 215 Micro-inverters. My mad scientist buddy, Russ, over at RWGResearch.com, happened on some of these at an electronics salvage company. I asked him to ship me a few. These particular inverters are new enough that they DO include the Integrated Ground feature and they have the MC4 connectors, which match my solar panels. The odd thing is that they are "Zep Compatible", which means the mounting bracket on them was designed to work with a very particular racking system.
I already had a piece of the Enphase Engage trunk cable and found that a pair of plain wooden pencils works well as a release tool to unplug the inverters from the cable.
Unfortunately, I also happen to be both sick AND have a very busy schedule at the moment, so I won't be able to actually run some tests on these inverters from probably about 2 weeks or so. I'll need to rig up a temporary safe and clean 240V connection and ammeter for testing.
