I’ve spent the last year asking a single question: “Is it possible to build a deep, technical space MMO that doesn't require a 50GB download or a $2000 gaming rig?” The answer is Zero-G.
I am an independent developer, and today I’m excited to show you 60 seconds of real gameplay from our Public Alpha 4.3.0.
Why Zero-G is different from your standard browser game:
🌍 Real NASA Data: We don't use procedural noise for our planets. Exploration and landings on the Moon and Mars use actual NASA topographic data. When you land in the Tycho crater, you are navigating the real lunar surface.
⚙️ Hard Sci-Fi Physics: Inspired by the realism of The Expanse, we’ve implemented Relativistic Acceleration (RAC) and a Newtonian flight model. Manual docking at starbases requires real pilot skill (WASD)—there is no "auto-dock" button here.
🏗️ True Persistence: This is a living universe hosted on a dedicated production server. Build modular starbases, found a "Venture" (player corporation) with friends, and stockpile resources. Your creations remain in the universe even when you close your browser.
⚔️ Tactical Combat: Defend your trade routes against hostile alien fleets in real-time multiplayer instances. Manage your ship's "Power Triangle," balancing energy between Shields, Engines, and Weapons.
🛰️ A Community Mission: It’s the year 2264. All pilots work together, donating XP to a global research initiative to unlock Faster-Than-Light (FTL) technology and change the course of human history.
