Update on Cardio Load and Target load from Google:
Cardio Load is based on training impulse (TRIMP). It is a measure of the amount of work that your heart has done during activities. You receive more cardio load for longer and more strenuous activity based on your heart rate – with exponentially higher weight assigned to higher heart rate. Cardio Load focuses on periods of activity and training, therefore only accumulates during intensities at or above 30% or your Heart Rate Reserve (HRR).

Target Load leverages your readiness and your training history to provide a personalized target for your Cardio Load each day. Target Load is rooted in the concept of Acute:Chronic Workload Ratio (ACWR). Google proposes a target ACWR range of 0.95-1.05 for maintaining fitness and 1.0-1.1 for increasing fitness (users can select between these in the app) reflecting the evidence that this will deliver significant fitness gains over a training period (e.g. 12 weeks) while reducing the risk of injury/illness that can occur with sudden increase in load.

Intro:
The main change comes is in the way Pixel Watch 3 now presents your sleep and recovery in the app in a more actionable way. However, before discussing that, I am hoping my diligent testing has earned a subscribe from you. And it also really helps me get access to devices sooner from manufacturers if you leave a like or comment. OK, back to the Pixel Watch 3. The Pixel Watch will now move in the direction of the Oura Ring and Whoop Strap, which are known for presenting sleep, recovery and training load in a way that is easy to understand and actionable for the user. The Pixel Watch 3 will keep a similar sleep score to what you are used to from Fitbit, but in addition three new scores will be introduced: an updated readiness score, a cardio load score and a target load score. And the idea is that you use these three scores together to plan your sleep, your day, and your activities. The way it is supposed to work is as follows: When you wake up you see a summary of your most important health and fitness metrics: your sleep quality, your readiness score, your progress towards your weekly exercise goal, and finally, very similar to Apple’s vitals app, you see if any of your health metrics deviate from your personal range. These are metrics like your heart rate variability, breathing rate and oxygen saturation. The new readiness score is now supposed to be more personalized to you, and is basically a summary of many of these metrics, using your sleep patterns, resting heart rate, and HRV. This score tries to measure your body's state of recovery, trying to help you understand your body's response to load and exercise and is particularly aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts who want to ensure they are not overtraining and are giving their bodies enough time to recover.
