TMNT Shredder's Revenge received a new DLC update a few days ago - Dimension Shellshock (for $7.99)! This brings two new playable characters into the game, the samurai rabbit Usagi Yojimbo, and Karai, a high ranking member of the Foot Clan. There's also a new survival mode, with new stages, power ups, and even the ability to play as the bosses, and new color palettes for every character.
I haven't spent much time on the survival mode yet. I've just been playing the new characters in Arcade mode, trying to clear it without a death. I went with Usagi first because he's both really fun, and really strong. Usagi has a better air game than any other character - he can do a three hit combo, cancel into an uppercut, and reset into another combo without touching the ground. This is super useful in many different areas, but it's especially strong on bosses. You can uppercut just before they hit you, then air combo them while their attack whiffs to keep a constant flow of damage going. It's just fun trying to figure out how to use his new tools to get as much damage in as possible. His super attacks are really good too, although unlike the base characters, the two new characters have nerfed jump supers. Everyone else gets a really fast, massively damaging attack, while Usagi does a quick combo first before moving in to his slam. I like this, it actually would have been nice if the base characters had unique air specials as well, but it's just a drawback for these two in particular. I wouldn't say it's a big deal though, at least for Usagi.
Of course, I recommend the DLC to anyone who enjoyed the game before. New characters, modes, and colors for only 8 bucks? And an excuse to play more toitles? Hell yes.
Up next is Karai! I've barely touched Survival, and I'd also like to do Arcade with all red dip switches afterward. I'm going on vacation in a few days, though, so even getting Karai done before then might be tough.

PS. There's a couple pauses in stage 15. For the first one, I had to close a window on my computer (which is what I play the game on), and that pauses the game. For the second one, I just really had to use the bathroom. This game is way too long, lol.
