Thirlmere, Armboth. How to lose a Bridge!

Описание к видео Thirlmere, Armboth. How to lose a Bridge!

The History of Thirlmere: From 1863 onward to 1876, proposals from the London Politicians of the day, wanted to convert the two Thirlmere lake’s (Thirlmere was originally 2 small lakes) into a reservoir.

Of great interest, the 2 villages lost underwater at Thirlmere were here ar Armboth & at the Dobgill site further South, it was Wythburn that went under.

To this day - as in Haweswater, these remains which are older than Haweswaters, can still be seen as flattened walls on this lake bed – so in this latest filming taken in July 2020 we'll show you some of these features here at Armboth in 4k quality.

Always ensure you dive as a buddy team in the lakes and at any other time! Use all safety devices as you deem necessary.

SMB and Strobe are strongly advised, as are powerful marine torches. In the sea I personally carry one torch, BUT in the lakes I carry FOUR ! - 3 attached to my helmet for hands free work, and the big one in my hand.
