The Real Magic Behind Encanto's Arepas

Disney’s Encanto has us hungry for some arepas!

This delicacy, from the borderlands between Colombia and Venezuela can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Colombians prefer them flat, split open and served with butter and cheese. Venezuelans like to stuff them with mixtures of meat, cheese and vegetables.

Both Colombians and Venezuelans proudly claim arepas as their own, but this delicious corn flour dish has made its way far beyond the borders of Latin America.
