First things first, let’s start with Minecraft Java Edition. If you are on a Minecraft server, you will need to have OP. This can be done by running the /op USERNAME command in the server’s console. If you are in singleplayer, you will need to enable cheats.

If cheats aren’t enabled in your world, you will need to enable them. This can be done by pausing Minecraft and going to “Open to LAN”. Then, selecting “Enable Cheats: On” and opening the world to LAN. From there, you will be able to change your game.

How do you change your gamemode in Minecraft Java Edition? Well, it’s really simply, just type /gamemode creative. This will change your gamemode to creative. To go to survival, use /gamemode survival or /gamemode spectator for spectator. This command will work with any of the Minecraft gamemodes ensuring that no matter what you will be able to play Minecraft with creative, survival, or any gamemode.

As far as changing your gamemode in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, the process is the same. The biggest difference is enabling cheats within your world. This is done by going to the “Play” screen and editing your world. Then, you will find the “Allow Cheats” toggle and turn it on. Doing this will allow you to change your gamemode.

Once you are in-game, the command is the same as on Java Edition. Just use /gamemode creative to go to creative. Replacing creative with survival, spectator, or adventure will change you to the gamemode you specified.
