Today, we embarked on an extraordinary adventure, setting sail for the famed Komodo Islands from the comfort of our private villa in Labuan Bajo. As we approached the harbor, the sight of our luxurious private ship docked nearby was a breathtaking blend of opulence and the spirit of exploration. The Phinisi schooner, an iconic vessel of Indonesia's seafaring heritage, is a masterpiece of the Bugis people of South Sulawesi. Traditionally used for centuries to traverse the Indonesian archipelago and beyond, these two-masted sailing ships combine design elements of the dhow and Western schooners.
