Despite the heavy beating he had taken, Walter White's body was resilient, due in part to the stockpile of people he had eaten and absorbed.

...People? Eaten? Walter was getting confused. Had he done that? What was going on... He heard a voice. Mike! Yes, Mike! Walter had to beat him. That's why he had done all this. Wait... hadn't he beaten him already? And where was Jesse?

Hand had two advantages. He had trained his minds to maintain precise clarity, even as a monster and under duress. He also had an ace up his sleeve... or to be more specific, down his throat. Their battle was about to be over.
