Ethanol gas just makes it near impossible to keep an engine running these days. The alcohol in it separates the water out of the gas but it stays in the tank so that it fowls plugs, plugs carbs and makes all kind of mess. Guy at the points store told me these "Double Platinum" Champion spark plugs were designed to stand up to it at least better than the regular ones so we'll see... I'll keep you posted.
