Lockdown has left many young people struggling with their mental health.

At a pivotal point in their development, where they should be doing things independently and for the first time, these life experiences have been placed
on hold. Independence and social autonomy are crucial to the development of young people. This lack of social freedoms has led to social and mental health issues that are yet to be fully recognised.

Mental illnesses such as anxiety have been exacerbated in recent times, Alfie’s talk aims to help offer advice. Alfie will be referring to his own personal experiences with anxiety and IBS to give tailored advice and begin an open and honest conversation about a taboo issue. Alfie is a student currently studying at XP School and will be going into year 11 in the up coming academic year. Alfie’s special interests include plant sciences, linguistics and art in various mediums.
