6. Trapezoid: Positioned next to the trapezium, the trapezoid participates in the thumb's range of motion.

7. Capitate: The largest carpal bone, the capitate is centrally located and provides stability and support to the wrist joint.

8. Hamate: The hamate is situated on the ulnar side of the hand and features a bony projection called the "hook of hamate." This hook serves as an attachment point for ligaments and tendons.

These carpal bones articulate with the bones of the forearm (the radius and ulna) and the metacarpal bones of the hand, creating a flexible and strong structure that allows for intricate hand movements and dexterity. Together, these bones enable individuals to perform a wide range of tasks, from gripping objects to intricate finger movements, enhancing the hand's functionality in various activities, including those of individuals like "Carole."
