A.J. Fernandez has several brands on the market – Last Call, Dias de Gloria, New World, San Lotano and Bella Artes. But if you haven’t smoked any of those, chances are that you have still smoked an A.J. Fernandez-made cigar.

Before releasing his own brands in the mid-2010s, A.J. Fernandez “made his bones” as a third-party cigar maker – he produced a number of cigars for other brands including Montecristo, Punch and H. Upmann (New World) as well as blockbuster catalog brands like Ava Maria, Man O’ War and Diesel.

Dias de Gloria (Glory Days) Brazil was just released in 2024, it is the second entry in the Dias de Gloria line – the original was a Sun Grown wrapper released in 2019.

Right from the get-go this is a nice, nice looking cigar. It features a Brazil Mata Fina wrapper that is almost black wrapper, with the rest of the tobacco from A.J. farms in Nicaragua. It as a classy green foot band, cedar sleeve, and double band continuing the green/black/gold theme.

The construction on this cigar was wonderful. Brazil Mata Fina is an extremely study wrapper leaf, and it held together perfectly. Outside of a very minor canoeing at the start, every aspect of construction was near perfect

Flavor was very good – Cedar with almonds and a slightly sweet dried cherry taste.

Overall this is a very worthy cigar – I rate it a 9/10 (as I say in the video, I’ve been on a bit of a roll). Body is a little tricky – if you have had some of the stronger A.J. cigars, this isn’t quite up there with his strongest, but it does pack a little body punch. Still, I’d say it’s medium-full at most.
