As a freelance photographer, how do you get more freelance photography jobs?

Number 1, think that it’s all about your clients—and not about you. Get yourself out of the picture. It’s all about business and what’s best for your clients and how they can get great experience from you. This is going to make the client refer you to new customers. So make money, get business by getting new contacts by word of mouth to get recurring clients.

Number 2. Charge what you’re worth. As a freelance photographer, you know that photography equipment can be expensive particularly is you’re using high-end gear, so it’s only appropriate. It will be worth it because now, you’ll have an outstanding portfolio and be ready if clients ask about it. About the quality it brings to their business, because in the end, people are willing to pay more for convenience, for less stress, for comfort, and the cost will be worth it in the end, we pay more for good results and experiences.

Number 3: Always have your back up plans for all your work. For me, I rely on Western Digital
Wireless Passport, so that it’s easier –you can simply slap an SD card in there. So this come in handy if for whatever reason, you are capturing on camera which does not have dual card slots. That’s why I really recommend it taking with you to at least lessen your anxiety when you go out there and shooting.

Number 4: Hire a second shooter. Not only will this give you a justification to command a higher price for your clients, this also enables you to have a peace of mind that you’ve got a certain coverage. This reduces your anxiety about how the event will turn out because someone’s got your back by way of a capable second shooter. So this means that you got covered on everything and you’re not leaving anything to chance. Just make sure that you hire a good one if they use their own photography equipment, and you two have great communication and everything is understood clearly between the two of you.

This way, you’ll have a lot of amazing shots and lots of happy customers!
