Speaker 1: Today we're gonna look at and also show you how to install the Optronics Double Bullseye LED trailer clearance and side maker light with one wire, ten diodes and a red lens. Part number is MCL45RB.Now this is what the Double Bullseye light looks like installed and lit up. This is a very, very bright light. It has 10 diodes inside of it. A lot of times you'll see three, four, six, eight. Not too often do you see a full 10 diodes in here.
So, it's gonna very bright and powerful. You can see they call it the Double Bullseye 'cause you've got the round bullseye shapes there on each side. This is gonna be PC rated, so for those of you that need this, you can mount it on the 45 degree angle on the back corner of your trailer and it will work as the clearance and as the running light. Now, you'll replace lights on your trailer for several different reasons. Ours have gotten old. Somebody had connected using one of those quick connectors, which aren't really the best solution, and the lens was broken on this one.
But, the bulb goes out, your housing doesn't work anymore, whatever the problem may be, or you just wanna upgrade to the new look. The clear, cleaner look that you get out of the LED lights. It's pretty easy to get these changed out with just the two screws that are gonna hold them in place, and then you'll have to wire it up with a butt connector. You have a lot of benefits to LED lights. They're gonna be a brighter, cleaner light. They're also gonna use a lot less power, so you're not drawing as much power through the systems on your vehicle. The life on them is much greater than what you'll see with a standard incandescent. Now, as far as the dimensions of the light are concerned, from the back edge here to the leading edge, you've got about four and a sixteenth inch.
From the bottom edge here to the top, we've got two and an eighth. Then from the surface of the trailer to the outside edge, it's gonna be about an inch and an eighth. The lens is also fully removable, so if it ever gets damaged, broken, it's easily replaced. You can leave the base in place, remove the lens, place your new one on, you'll be ready to head right back down the road. You see your mounting hardware is gonna be on the standard three inch center to center. So, most of your lights designed in this shape and fashion, your bolt holes are gonna line right up during your replacement. Now, as far as the installation process goes, it's gonna be pretty straightforward.
We're just gonna connect single wire to singe wire using a butt connector. We're gonna do part number DW05744. It's a heat shrink, that way we won't have to worry about any moisture causing corrosion.Just gonna strip both of the wires back. Add that on, and we're done. Now this is a pretty thin gauge wire that comes out of our light, so with this size butt connector, I'm gonna double this over. So, you strip it about twice as far, double it, that should give you plenty of material to crimp down on. We're gonna use out heat source to get that shrinked down. Now, you can use a heat gun, a mini torch, or a lighter. You just wanna heat it gently. It'll start to turn clear. You can see it start to shrink. The wire will look like it's kind of magnified and then eventually a little clear gel will come out at the end, and it's fully shrinked down. You'll notice here on the bottom in the middle, and on each side, we've got a little U-shaped cut out. We want those down, so if any moisture gets in there, it'll be allowed to run out and away. The base on this light is also thicker than what you're gonna see on most, so what we need to do, I'm gonna use a little bit longer . I think a one inch self-tapping screw will probably work out well for you. Just something to keep in mind during your change. When we've got that secure, we'll just pop the cap on and we can test it out. And that's gonna complete our look at the Optronics Double Bullseye LED trailer clearance and side marker light. Part number MCL45RB.
