This question has been driving me crazy because there seems to be no videos explaining this in depth - for a MAC!

So I went ahead and made this video for you, so you can avoid frustration and brain overload. Because it really is all in the detail and the order in which you execute things.

Let me also note that I’ve heard from others that Companion can be a bit fickle to work with. Because it can be a bit unstable. But I have not had that experience myself.

Now for starters I have my Atem Mini Pro and my MacBook running on the same ethernet.

Before you go ahead and do this you need to have downloaded the Stream Deck app and the Companion app and have them running on your computer. If you’ve been using Stream Deck already you need to back up your profiles.

You also need to install the Stream Deck plugin for Companion.

Having done that - follow along.

Open up your MacBook as you would normally do.

Plug in the power of your Atem Mini Pro.

Remember: the Mac and the Atem Mini Pro should be running on the same ethernet connection.

Launch your Atem Controller software and look for the IP address - and copy it. Then close down the application again.

Make sure your Stream Deck application is working. Back up your profiles. and then close the application.

The Stream Deck will now be displaying a large G on the buttons.

Now launch the Companion software and connect it via Localhost. It will take you a browser side and here the install should show as following.

Now launch the Stream Deck app again and switch through your profiles.

Now you can launch your Atem Controller software. And now you will be able to record your macros and bring them into your Stream Deck.
