Google Ads CPC: Decrease Cost of Branded Search Campaigns with Cross-brand

In this video Steve from Cross-brand explains what the product does and how it helps to prevent wasted budget on branded Google Search Ads.

This service will absolutely save businesses with big programs some of their budget so I wanted to bring it to my channel and share with any marketers who rely on paid search.

This is most helpful if you’re spending at least $10k a month exclusively bidding on your own brand terms search engine advertising.

Here are some of the things the service does:

1. Allow you to NOT waste money bidding when you’re organic listing would already be served up in the top spot on the SERP, when your brand is being searched.

2. When a competitor does place an ad against one of your brand terms, you would serve your ad to compete for that traffic… but when their ad is no longer present, neither is yours.

3. You can also use it to serve ads on your competitors when they ARE NOT bidding on their own branded search terms.

To put a cherry on top they track your Blended CTR on your ads and organic listings (so you can track if opportunistically placing your ad is bringing your more or less clicks.)

Steve showed me a case where a business saw their CTR improve as their cost went down (no longer wasting spend when they’re already #1 organically).

I gleaned that, for this client, their #1 organic listing had higher CTR when served in the top spot Vs their ad. Reducing the instances where the paid ad was necessary led to higher average CTR overall.
