~ this is the flip-side to 'boy,what'll you do then/chaos' wee records 1966....one of the rarest record's to find and certainly the rarest to come out of san francisco it now fetches in the region of $5000+ as there is only around 3 in existence!..denise was denise kaufman(guitar/harmonica/vocals..) who met local berkeley high school students playing in a group 'the answer' & had one fabulous single on white whale 'i'll be in/why you smile' in '65...kaufman would sometimes appear with the band but was never a member....thru them she got the opportunity to record a single after local label (wee records..) owner lenny hewitt heard her and offered to finance the session...backing was by the 'answer' but drummer bob schumaker never played the date but hewitt who was a jazz drummer & played gigs with cal tjader when he was in the city...took over the drum stool when the recording was taking place at 'coast recorders'....kaufman was 18yrs old while the band were 16-17...kaufman isn't sure of the recording date but says it could be late '65 with the single coming out in '66....with the band in asilomar for a show and a speech by ken kesey she that evening spent time with kesey talking and in a short time was asked to join the pranksters on a road trip which she did...i really like this track and its fusion of garage/surf/folk-rock....kaufman plays harmonica in a perfect blend of styles and sound....she would later form 'the ace of cups'....
