Giraffe Song | By Claudia Robin Gunn | Nature and Wildlife for Kids Who Love Animals

This is a song for all kids who love to imagine what life would be like if you were a giraffe! Once upon a time, me and my kids got to meet a majestic purple-tongued giraffe at feeding time at Auckland Zoo, and all of the little kids on our school trip that day seemed to be gazing up, wishing they could be a giraffe for a day.

What sound does a giraffe make? That isn't an easy question to answer! I did read about how giraffes have been recorded as 'humming' in a very low frequency at night though, a sound that humans can barely hear, and that made me wonder about what kind of songs a giraffe might be singing, if we could hear them.
