Sabre Springs is a quiet, residential neighborhood nestled between Poway and Rancho Peñasquitos, just off the 15 freeway. While it doesn’t have a ton of shopping and dining options within its borders, you’re just minutes away from Carmel Mountain Ranch, where you’ll find everything from Trader Joe’s and Costco to great restaurants, Best Buy, and my favorite movie theater, the Angelika.

Plus, Sabre Springs has a unique connection to Florence Chadwick, the legendary swimmer who was the first woman to swim the English Channel both ways. There was even a restaurant named after her, The Florence, which we featured on the channel before it sadly closed down.

If you’re looking for great schools, easy freeway access, and a peaceful suburban feel, Sabre Springs is definitely worth considering.
