Our camp facilitator educator and.mentor Claudia Haines tells you why podcasting is the perfect way to beat the summer slide and grow children's imaginations. Our August 2021 immersive virtual summer camp invites kids to explores the nuts and bolts of what it takes to make a podcast—from ideation and creating memorable audio logos to scripting, recording, and editing. All week long, participants will meet experts (storytellers, producers, sound engineers, and kids and family podcasters) and learn their tricks of the trade. They will also create and record short audio gems as they lay the foundation for making their own podcasts. This class will be a combination of two synchronous (live) virtual instruction sessions per day with time in between for independent project work. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiments in podcasting and collaborate with their learning community in a shared Padlet.
