How is a due date determined? | Quick Question

Is a pregnancy 40 weeks or 38? Why does your ovulation calculator say you’ve been pregnant for 2 weeks + a few days when you enter your ovulation date while in your two week wait and you haven’t even got that positive pregnancy test yet?
