Shootout: Safety Razor vs. Disposable Razor

King Gillette is often credited as inventing the "razor and blades" business model where razors are sold cheaply to get people buying a disposable blade. His double edged safety razor with disposable blades was revolutionary and supplanted the straight razor, which needed constant sharpening. Despite the "customer for life" reliance on replacement blades, the safety razor is a good product, for one thing, because it saves time the user would otherwise need to spend on sharpening a straight razor.. Not the same can be said for the modern disposable plastic razors and crappy "Turbo" and "Quattro" labeled jobs with detachable blades. These are JUNK. Stop buying them.
