Elvis - Fools Rush In 1966 restored demo

Описание к видео Elvis - Fools Rush In 1966 restored demo

For promotional purposes only. It is believed that Elvis recorded this unfinished demo (thank you, FTD) in 1966 or, some would say, 1967. Whichever year it was, the fact remains that this one-and-a-half-minute recording is a gem is there ever was one. On this demo we hear a private Elvis singing along to an instrumental record by Nelson Riddle, "Sing Along With Riddle". For some reason he suddenly stopped singing and, well, that was that. Having been an Elvis fan for 46 years and counting, I told myself Elvis fans might like a more completed version of this demo, one that would be respectful to the original recording and, of course, Elvis. So here it is. It took me two days to put this one together and, I tell you, this one was really painstaking. To give this restored demo a sense of completion, I resorted to a wonderful recording by Peggy Lee and an incredibly tasteful version by Doris Day.

Some of the things that needed to be done:
1. Isolating Elvis' vocals from the demo.
2. Editing the vocals (mainly speed adjustments).
3. Merging the vocals with the Nelson Riddle record.
4. Making full use of those vocals, adding a partial harmony in the second part.
5. Isolating Peggy Lee's vocals and Doris Day's vocals.
6. Editing their vocals to match Elvis' key and speed.
7. Adding their vocals to the Nelson Riddle record.
8. Isolating piano chords from the Doris Day version and rearranging them to suit the restored demo.

I won't bore you with more details, but Elvis deserves every second of the sweat and tears that went into this project. I hope you like it.
