Cwmorthin Quarries

An interesting afternoon exploring some of the old slate quarries near Blaneau Ffestiniog

Starting from the small carpark by the quarry and following good clear paths for the most part some moderate squelchiness underfoot in a couple of place. A couple of very short sections when the path can be a little unclear.

Notes:
The route is through old quarry workings; certain parts will be unsafe. Explore off the path at your own risk. Generally a moderately easy walk. The route is steep at the start for a short distance. A circular route visiting the Cwmorthin and Rhosydd Quarries. An easy and pleasant return route via the Stwlan Dam.
