On Saturday 3/16, volunteers at the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society, with assistance from Amtrak, moved SBRHS’ ex-Santa Fe baggage car over a pit to work on its restoration. The car shares space with former Santa Fe steam locomotive 3751 at Amtrak’s Redondo facility. Once refurbished it will be a vital element in 3751’s operations at it carries much of the needed equipment to operate a mainline steam locomotive in the 21st century. Visit www.SBRHS.org.
