As a trial attorney, it is extremely important to understand the anatomy. The most important reason for this is not only to understand the extent of your injuries and disabilities, but to be able to convey to a jury, the judge, to the defense attorney and the insurance company what problems you experienced as a direct result of the wrongdoing.

In a lawsuit involving an accident, negligence, medical malpractice or even wrongful death, we are required to prove not only that someone was responsible for your injuries, but that the injuries are significant and/or permanent.

If your trial attorney is not familiar with the injuries you suffered, he may be at a distinct disadvantage compared to a more experienced trial lawyer who has handled your type of case before.

We know that different people experience different injuries even with an injury to the same part of the body.

For example, a 25-year-old who suffers a fractured femur, who is otherwise in excellent health, may recover fully from their broken leg. However, a 50-year-old who suffers the same fractured femur may be hospitalized for a month, require multiple surgeries and be in a wheelchair and need read rehabilitation for weeks and months afterwards.

An injured victim who suffers spinal cord injury may be severely disabled. Their injury may involve paralysis as a result of a severed spinal cord and they may require 24-hour nursing care. This injured victim may require a wheelchair, and depending upon the severity of the spinal cord injury may require modifications and computerized equipment to help them lead their daily lives.
