80 Miles for the Cure CJD Campaign - Documentary

Описание к видео 80 Miles for the Cure CJD Campaign - Documentary

In October 2016, just days after receiving the all-clear from breast cancer, Julie Robinson was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). A rare, degenerative disease, CJD is a fatal brain condition, with around 100 new cases in the UK each year.

Currently it has no cure.

As the culmination of fundraising efforts by Buckingham Firefighters, Julie's husband John, alongside former and current colleagues at Buckingham Fire Station, as well as his son and son-in-law, kayaked 80 miles along the River Great Ouse, from Buckingham to Huntingdon.

This documentary is the story of those three days. The story of a mission that experts said would be impossible in the time. The story of 7 kayakers, 4 support crew and 1 objective: to raise as much money as possible for the Cure CJD Campaign.
