STD, STI and STBBI Testing, with Dr. Gabrielle Landry

Описание к видео STD, STI and STBBI Testing, with Dr. Gabrielle Landry

The first aim of testing or screening is to determine if the patient has contracted, or is at risk of contracting, a sexually transmitted or blood-borne infection (STI or STBBI). STIs are caused by viruses or bacteria and spread during sexual contact with an infected individual.

A number of STIs are asymptomatic, meaning that they exhibit no symptoms. In other words, you might be infected without knowing it. This means that you should be tested regularly. In general, any person who has sexual relations should get screened for STIs at least once a year.

The screening process is quick, easy and painless and can help you avoid many potential problems.

Dr. Gabrielle Landry explains here the principal steps of a good screening, the STIs that need to be looked for, and when it is recommended to get tested.
