And we're back with another cover of a cover, this time being the song HEARTBEAT by the one and only Mr. DON JOHNSON, taken off his 1986 debut studio album with the same title. The original version of this song was released in 1982 by Wendy Waldman. Don Johnson is mainly known as an actor, and his performance as Sonny Crockett / Burnett in the iconic 80's TV show MIAMI VICE made him world-famous over night. He's still in the game today, and he played some of my favourite characters in TV shows as well as huge movies. But besides his enormous success on television and film, he also started a musical career back in the 80's, which lasted for a couple of years and led to two studio albums. Personally, I really like his vocal performance and the typical 80's Rock production of his songs, so covering a song of his was a total must for me. Fun fact: This very song has been featured both in the TV show Miami Vice itself as well as on the original soundtrack of the Rockstar video game GTA V.
