This is a clip from my video at the Asklepion of Pergamon. This video really doesn't do the beauty of these old Roman Pillars lining the Sacred Road of the Asklepion in Bergama, Turkey a justice. Watch the full video on my channel.

After we explored the mountaintop ruins of Pergamon we headed to the Asklepion (or Ancient Hospital) at the bottom of the mountain. I knew we were going to an "ancient hospital" as part of this stop. But I had no idea what to actually expect. Complete with it's own little theater, an agora where they sold medicinal herbs and remedies, a small library, and an incredible healing area with still flowing water in the channels. This was such a cool stop after seeing the incredible ruins up on top the mountain. After we finished here we drove for several hours north to our hotel Cura in Çanakkale, Türkiye. We wondered the cat filled streets that evening to try to watch the sunset over the sea. In the next episode we will be heading to the famous Ancient City of Troy.

This trip was a few months before the horrible earthquake that just hit Turkey. My heart breaks for all the people there as we stayed in several of the worst hit cities and it is so upsetting to see the destruction.
