They recently visited Australia, on a visit supported by green groups, to speak at a forum in the Hunter Valley about the end of mining in their town and the need for coal communities to prepare for a transition.

It comes in the wake over a debate about the future of the Hunter's own export industry, prompted by changing energy demand in key markets. While some warn of a downturn, the Australian coal industry maintains economic data indicates continued growth in Asia.
