If you want to tantalize your taste buds but still have a substantial meal then Tamboti Restaurant at Tamboti Bush Lodge is for you.

The restaurant is now 11 years old and through much trial and error the owners Derrick and Pixie Cochran have developed a lovely a la carte menu with magical starters, stunning main courses and desserts to delight the most sweet-toothed guest .

Our most famous and memorable dish are the chicken livers, once you have had the chicken livers, whether you have them seriously hot or just mild you will be hooked. Served in a creamy peri-peri sauce they are to die for. How do you know that they are so good ? When the locals come to the restaurant early in the morning and have them for breakfast,

When a Frenchman has escargots every night and a Belgian announces that Tamboti’s mussels in white wine sauce are better than the Mussels in Brussels then you know you are on the right track.

Main courses with tasty, tender well matured rumps, fillets and t-bones served with a Madagascan green pepper sauce are to die for, other main courses include chicken a la king served in pancakes, chicken schnitzel Serengeti, traditional bobotie and many more.

Come to the bushveld and be amazed at this really extensive menu served in this beautiful thatched restaurant open to the sights and sounds of the bushveld. Enjoy your meals with that special glass of Robertson wine from our selection.
Our dessert menu is known from Mozambique to Montana especially the chocolate mud pudding and our Cape Malva pudding. Guest have been known to e-mail us from the USA to check that we have items such as Sticky Toffee Apple pudding still on the menu before they board their flights to SA.



Breakfast is served from 08h00 all week and the no. 1 breakfast on the menu is the Tamboti Breakfast : French toast served with ramekins of cottage cheese, biltong, sweet chilli sauce, maple syrup and peppadews together with bacon, boerewors and grilled tomato. A breakfast to satisfy the hungriest hunter.

Tamboti Restaurant is situated in the Dinokeng Game Reserve close to Hammanskraal and only 30 mins drive from Pretoria on the N1. Turnoff at Hammanskraal turn right over the highway and then left on the Rust de Winter road. Travel 7,2 kms and turn right at the first Tamboti sign.
