Camping, Cooking and Hiking Wadi Rum | Wild Jordan

Описание к видео Camping, Cooking and Hiking Wadi Rum | Wild Jordan

Today is our second full day exploring Wadi Rum. After waking up in a traditional Wadi Rum tent and watching a Wadi Rum sunrise, I start the morning off with a hearty and delicious traditional bedouin breakfast. Our Bedouin guide then drove us across the Wadi Rum desert, through the Um Snenah Valley to an area close to the Jordanian Saudi Arabian border. We parked up here to climb Jabal Al Hash. I would describe the Jabal Al Hash Hike as simple and even those who are inexperienced hikers should manage it with not much effort, but the view from the top is stunning overlooking Jabal Um Addami - the highest mountain in Jordan. Along the hike, our guide picked fire wood and thyme (zatar?) so as we explored the top of the mountain, he was brewing traditional bedouin tea for us. After our descent, we swung by the Elqettar Spring before pulling up to a stunning, shaded spot to experience Bedouin cooking Wadi Rum. Whilst our guide cooked us a hot lunch on another fire he created, we were set the challenge to create our own, wild fire so we could set off making bedouin tea for us all - spoiler alert - we needed a fair bit of help! After a relaxing lunch sat on picnic rugs with the silence of the desert around us, we hopped back into the 4x4 in search of the Burdah Rock Bridge view point (or was it the Burdah Rock arch?) After a quick photo stop, we were dropped off at the entrance to the Abu Khashaba Siq (Abu Khashaba Canyon) where we were able to hike from one end to the other where our guide met us with 2 sand boards at the ready! A quick drive across more of the desert took us to a Wadi Rum sand dune from which we were meant to enjoy a Wadi Rum sunset, though it was a little anti climatic as a pesky lone cloud had other ideas! Another quick drive through the desert which looked like a completely different place with the change in light, we arrived back at our Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp (Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp) for just shy of an hour's downtime, before sitting down to a traditional bedouin dinner, including the delicious Zarb. Visiting Wadi Rum was the highlight of our Jordan vacation, and it was a combination of the experience camping Wadi Rum, an excellent guide, the most delicious food you could ask for, stunning scenery and a back to nature relaxing feel. If you enjoy this travel Vlog, you may be interested in my other Wadi Rum Vlog from our first day in the desert.
