I'm going to show you a very basic, lengthening stroke and what we go ahead and do, is place the hand, you can actually put one hand over the other and just lengthen that muscle. When you're in this area, it's actually nice just to do a little compression down at the bottom, too. It helps release that area. If you want to go ahead, and come back and start over, you can add a little fun to that stroke by doing just a hand over hand. It still helps lengthen the muscle, but it adds a little bit more interest to the stroke. You're going to want to make sure that you avoid the spine and any bony processes. If your hand naturally falls into the tissue, that's where you want it to be. You can always pull right back up, lengthen the other direction, and that's how you do a lengthening stroke.
