Hola! Today, I’m in Cala Major (aka Cala Mayor), a resort town located a few kilometres west of Palma, the capital of Majorca. Let’s explore the resort area! Cala Major is one of the oldest resorts in Majorca, and it is still a very popular holiday destination. The sandy beach is a Blue Flag beach with turquoise and clear water. There are several hotels, bars, cafes, restaurants, beach clubs and shops in the area. Some attractions in the area include Jardin de Marivents, Fundacio Pilar I Joan Miro / Joan Miro Museum (an art museum and former house & studio for the famous Spanish artist Joan Miro art collections), Bellver Castle, Marivent Palace, etc. The Marivent Palace is a holiday home for the Royal Spanish family but it is not open to public though. The Joan Miro Museum is a museum for the art collections of Joan Miro, the famous Spanish painter who lived in Cala Major.
