Narration - Sunita's mother-in-law, Lata Ji, is constantly on dialysis due to kidney failure. She lives there. She has tubes all over her body, and she's been given a glucose bottle at home. The house is a small hut, with old mats on the floor and mud walls. Lata lies on the bed, her face pale and breathing shallow. Sunita is caring for her, but lines of worry are clearly visible on her face. Her glucose bottle is about to run out today, which worries Sunita.
Sunita 25: Worried // Oh, Amma, your glucose bottle is about to run out. If I don't get good wages today, who knows what will happen. How will I get your medicine and this glucose bottle?
Lata Ji 60: In a shaky voice // What should I do, daughter-in-law, I've become a burden to you all. Vikas's wages are already so low, and on top of that, the cost of my medicines is a burden on you.
Sunita 25: Lovingly comforting // Oh no, no, Amma ji...why do you blame yourself? And then, with your blessings, one day the wages will be good. May God grant you a speedy recovery.
Narration - Sunita is lovingly explaining to her mother-in-law, Lata Ji, when her daughter, Chinki, comes home from playing outside. Chinki's clothes are dirty, her hair is disheveled, and her face looks tired. She comes running in through the door.
Chinki 5: Panting // "Mom... Mom... I'm hungry. I want to eat. Please cook for me."
Sunita 25: Lovingly saying // Son, go to the chabariya and see, I've made rotis. You can eat those rotis."
Chinki 5: Making a face, clapping her hands // Mom, why don't you ever make parathas for me? There are potatoes in the house, right? All my friends bring parathas, and you give me dry roti every day. They all eat such delicious parathas, I want to eat them too. Please, Mom, please make them today.
Narration - Hearing this from Chinki, Sunita becomes even more upset. She lovingly explains:
Sunita 25: Lovingly explaining, eyes moist // Son, eat whatever is cooked today. I'll make potato parathas for you tomorrow.
Chinki 5: Insisting // No, Mom! Today I want to eat parathas. You always say you'll make them tomorrow, but you never do.
Sunita 25: Lovingly explaining // Son, there's no oil at home today. We need oil to make parathas. When Baba earns more money from his labor, Mother will definitely make you some delicious parathas. Come on, don't make faces, come, let me feed you with my own hands today.
Narration - Sunita takes out two dry rotis from the Chhabria and places them on a plate. She takes a few potatoes from the pot near the stove and lovingly feeds them to her daughter. Chinki happily begins eating, but suddenly, a noise is heard from outside. Two or three people come running to the door and shout.
Hariya Kaka 40: Running in panic // Hey Sunita! Look... what happened to your husband! The factory is crowded!
Shambhu Kaka 40: Panicked, it's been weeks // Yes, Sunita, let's hurry up, or else there will be a disaster today.
Sunita 25: Panicked // Hey, what happened? What happened to my husband? Why are you all so worried? Will someone tell me something?
Ramu Kaka 40: Panting // Hey, son...don't ask anything right now, just come with us, hurry up, and see for yourself.
Shankar Prasad 40: In a hurry // Sunita, sister, there's been an accident at the factory. Chemicals got into Uttam's eyes. Everyone is gathered there, you hurry up.
Sunita 25: Panicked, dropping the plate // What happened? To my husband? Oh my God, what are you saying? What happened to Vikas? Amma ji, please look after Chinki, I'll be right back!
Narration - Hearing the villagers' words, Sunita becomes terrified and leaves everything and runs towards the factory. Upon reaching the factory, she sees her husband working there, making Holi colors. He's got some strong chemical dye in his eyes, his eyes are burning intensely, and he's screaming in pain. His eyes are even bleeding.
Sunita 25: Crying and panicking // Oh...this...what
