2. *Prep the Buns:* Slice your hot cross buns in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish with sides, making sure they are snug and touching.
3. *Assemble:* Pour the custard over the bottom halves, spreading it evenly. Gently place the top halves of the buns on the custard layer.
4. *Chill:* Pop the assembled buns in the fridge to cool and set. About 2 hours should do the trick!
5. *Serve:* Once cooled, slice your buns into individual servings and enjoy!
