How To Fix The Westinghouse Dishwasher F5 Error Code - Meaning, Causes, & Solutions (Smooth Fix!). In this video tutorial I will show how to fix the Westinghouse Dishwasher F5 error code.

An F5 error on your Westinghouse dishwasher indicates a water level fault. Your dishwasher flashes this error code when there is no water during the washing phase.

The following are some of the common causes of the F5 error code:
Faulty inlet valve
A faulty inlet valve won't regulate the water flow in your machine. If the fault blocks water, your machine won't fill up and thus will display the F5 error.

Faulty wash pump
A faulty wash pump won't run, resulting in zero pressure in the pressure sensor's pipes. If there's no pressure in these pipes, the machine thinks there's no water, thus the F5 error.

Clogged or kinked inlet hose.
Debris and foreign objects often clog the inlet hose and impede water flow into the machine.

Now, let’s look at the best solutions you can apply to fix the F5 error code.
Replace the inlet valve.
1. Unplug the dishwasher and turn off the water supply.
2. Remove your dishwasher’s access panel. Consult your manual so you know which panel to remove.
3. Unscrew the inlet valve’s hot water hose couplings and the supply valve under the sink.
4. Remove the fill hose using slip joint pliers.
5. Label the wires on the inlet valve so you remember their position. Once done, remove these wires.
6. Undo the inlet valve’s mounting bolts.
7. Install the new inlet valve.
8. Reattach the wires and hot water hose.
9. Restore the power supply and switch on the water supply valve. Check for leaks and tighten the hose couplings as needed.

Replace the wash pump.
1. Unplug your dishwasher and turn off the water supply.
2. Remove your dishwasher’s lower access panel to reach the pump.
3. Locate the pump and disconnect the hoses.
4. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the pump.
5. Align the replacement pump and secure it using the mounting screws or bolts.
6. Reconnect the hoses, ensuring they’re tight to prevent leaks.
7. Reassemble your dishwasher and restore the power and water supply.
8. Test the dishwasher.

Unclog the inlet hose.
1. Unplug your dishwasher and turn off the water supply.
2. Remove the kickplate and locate the inlet hose.
3. Place a bucket or rug to catch residual water from the inlet hose.
4. Unscrew the inlet hose and inspect it for clogs.
5. Try breaking up the clogs and flush them with a garden hose.
6. Reconnect the hose, restore power and water, and test for leaks.
7. Reassemble your dishwasher.
