Elections for the post of Mayor in Delhi were held on Wednesday (22 February 2023) after three unsuccessful attempts by the MCD to hold the post of Mayor. shelly oberoi of the Aam Aadmi Party became the Mayor of Delhi by defeating Rekha Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party in this election. After which there was an atmosphere of chaos in the House of Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday morning. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed over the election of 6 members of the Standing Committee.
